....it simply doesn’t get more beautiful than this! Our forsythia is just yearning to be brought inside to give our home its first full blush of Spring, just in time for Easter. Everywhere we drive, we’re seeing the crocuses peeking thru. Sunny Old Northwest Road (where we happen to have a spectacular new-build for sale) is bursting forth with daffodils all over. |
Slammed on the breaks the other day to catch the first daffodils. |
As always, we’re opening our pool early…..so happy to get rid of that cover, the last vestige of the winter that wasn’t. Martha Stewart says it’s time to sharpen your garden tools. We’re way past that and have already (single-handedly) moved over 300 wheelbarrows of stone dust and enriched soil, as Ann’s new raised-bed vegetable garden begins to take shape. The weatherman and The Farmers’ Almanac agree, for once, that we’re going to have a glorious spring. So, if you’re still in the city……come out. And if you’re still inside…..get out. Spring in The Hamptons……how lucky are we?!?! |

Making progress on our new raised-bed vegetable garden with 150 wheelbarrows of rock dust alone. (Making it level with good drainage.) Stay tuned, next month’s picture is guaranteed to thrill you garden lovers.

One more time, we remind you to order your tickets to BAY STREET’S MAIN STAGE SEASON. THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES with The Hamptons’ own John Slattery and Talia Balsam. Then in August, Mel Brooks’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. Simply Amazing. (Click here to subscribe)

We’ve been to Broadway every two weeks all winter long. Jeremey Strong stunned us just last week with his performance in Amy Herzog’s interpretation of Ibsen’s AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE. (A 150 year old play, perhaps more relevant today than ever.)
BUT, we were also delighted with The Hampton Theatre Company’s recent rendition of STRICTLY MURDER. If you haven’t yet discovered this wonderful theater company, which has a permanent home in Quogue’s Community Hall, then you’re truly missing out. (Click here to learn more.)

And perhaps most heartfelt of all, is SALON NIGHT at The Southampton Inn with Angela LaGreca, Joy Behar, Mercedes Ruehl et al. If you haven’t found your way to one of these interludes, call the Inn to find out how to get on the mailing list. These are some of The Hamptons’ most endearing (and enduring) talents…..how lucky are we.

EATING OUT IN HAMPTON BAYS |
Following our theater night in Quogue, we stopped at our favorite good old Southern Italian restaurant, VILLA PAUL in Hampton Bays.
You don’t have to wait for theater to enjoy this wonderful throw-back to yesteryear, it’s easily worth the drive. The red sauce is perfect…..and seems to find its way onto almost every dish. The service was so pleasant it was almost endearing. |

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE HAMPTON CHARITY OR CAUSE? |
Once again, we ask you, our readers, to send us a note about YOUR favorite charity and we’ll do our best to feature it here. But we simply can’t let Spring go by without acknowledging that Ann’s beloved ELLEN HERMANSON FOUNDATION just gave almost a half a million dollars to The Breast Center at Southampton Hospital. Under the leadership of Julie Ratner, Ann, and Cathy Tweedy, the foundation continues to serve our community in untold ways. (Click here to see how you can contribute and to find out how to get tickets to the July 13th Summer Gala.) |

Board members, Dr. Kapenhaus and her staff meet to celebrate the Foundation’s recent grant.
