December 2023 Ann and Keith's Hamptons Calendar and Blog |

The Holidays are upon us. December is one of those months that just seems to fly by. So much to do.....shopping, decorating, wrapping, planning, entertaining, parties, travel and more. So we’ll keep this month’s newsletter short and sweet. We hope all of our readers have the best holidays ever in spite of the fact that the world around us seems to be spinning out of control. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything both near and far, then simply remember......This is The Hamptons, and Spring is almost here. How lucky are we! |

Call us old fashioned, but how can you resist visiting a shop that has an old fashioned model train set up for the Holidays. FOWLERS in Southampton has everything you could possibly need to decorate your home for the holidays.....and a wonderful Lionel Train display.....sure to bring a smile to faces young and old. |
But for true inspiration, we recommend you go to EAST HAMPTON GARDENS, (16 Gingerbread Lane, really!!!!!) From the moment you enter the shop you’ll know that it could only have been curated by someone who truly loves Christmas. |
The Owner himself, Michael Gianelli, uses his keen eye and seemingly magical touch to bring Christmas to life. New ways to decorate your tree or mantel abound. You won’t be able to get out the door without buying something to freshen up your Christmas spirit....and we guarantee that you’ll leave full of ideas, new tricks, and with a sleigh full of inspiration. |

Holiday Shopping? Who Would Have Thought?!?! |
MARDERS. That’s right Marders. World famous (Literally) for massive landscaping projects on some of the finest estates ever executed in The Hamptons, Marders may have simply the most wonderful gift shop we’ve ever seen anywhere. (In Bridgehamton, on Snake Hollow Road) Magazines and websites constantly publish lists of what to buy for those hard to please people on your list. MARDERS takes a different approach. They fill their shop with things you’ll want to buy for yourself! And therein lies the secret: If it would thrill you....IT WILL THRILL THEM. We warn you in advance that it’s hard to get out of the store without an armfull of tasteful, wonderful, and expensive things. But hey, This is The Hamptons, and it’s Christmas! |

If you’ve fallen under writer/producer Taylor Sheridan’s spell, with his expansive Yellowstone saga, Mayor of Kingstown, and Tulsa King......then give LAWMAN: BASS REEVES a chance. (Paramount+) It’s about the first African American Federal Marshal. A little bit like old-fashioned serial westerns, it’s not perfect television. But Bass Reeves does have a perfectly clear moral compass......a comforting thought during these discomforting times. David Oyelowo’s performance, as Marshall Reeves is one for the (law) books. It's All About The Feast. |
Actually, it’s all about Family. and there is simply no more exciting way to thrill a large gathering than to emerge from the kitchen with a Standing Rib Roast ready for carving. As everyone begins fighting over who gets the “End Cuts,” you can tell them how you had the roast exactingly trimmed by Ray the Butcher at CROMER’S MARKET. All summer long we dedicated our grilling efforts to the specialty meat market in Wainscott, CURATED......a wonderful addition to the constellation of markets that remind us how lucky we are to live out here. But when it comes to cooking a Christmas Rib Roast for our family, we happily make our annual pilgrimage to our
friend Ray at CROMER’S MARKET, 3500 Noyack Road. |

Are We Proud of Him, or What?! |
BRAD BEYER, long respected in the Hamptons real estate community as one of the most prolific home inspectors in the history of this amazing market, finally revealed himself publicly as the artist that he is. Already known as an exuberant pianist and world-class raconteuer, Brad finally had his first showing as a fine artist, combining his passion for our nation’s musical icons and his incredible artistry and wit. We went to see his “opening” at the BONAC PRINT SHOP ANNUAL ART SHOWCASE, and were simply blown away….as were the crowds. |

How Cheerful, How Lovely. |
Saturday, December 2, On the lawn in front of Village Hall, East Hampton Village is hosting its first ever Holiday Market. Gingerbread houses, wreaths and garlands, cookies and soups, music, Santa and more. It’ll be cute, charming, and no doubt quaint. |
