Welcome to March, or as we call it “Almost Spring.” And this year, not only is Spring in the air, but all over the ground with color bursting thru. (Now we all pray for no late-season deep freeze.) As we hope you’ve noticed, we assiduously avoid letting this newsletter be about Real Estate, but you’re simply going to have to forgive us here. Just last month we challenged all of you to join us in our commitment to ever expanding Indoor/Outdoor living. |
Well, BEHIND THE HEDGES Magazine in DAN’S PAPERS just ran a feature article about a new estate being built that includes every possible feature for extended days and extended seasons. Fire pit, fire place, outdoor kitchen, Pool House pavilion and lounge, wellness center with gym, steam, and sauna, four-seasons hot tub, and the latest year-round sensation, Pickle Ball. Yep, a brand- new sunken Pickle Ball court!!! Now you can tell everyone you know that this incredible home is available for rent for the season or the year......and it happens to be our listing. Click here to read the spectacular article, or click here for all the rental information about this seven-bedroom magnificent resort-like property. |

M.J. DOWLING’S on Noyack Road isn’t just our favorite restaurant this month......our credit card statement tells us it is far and away our most frequented place. But of course it is, with a menu that never fails to please and specials that never fail to thrill. Don’t expect Hampton-fancy. This is a classic pub that will remind us all of another time in our lives. Before you uncover the grill this season, discover “DOWLING’S” and let their wonderful dinners help you march toward Spring. One of us is addicted to their Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and Wednesday is Fajita night.......they truly arrive sizzling. Click here for the menu and a list of their nightly specials. |

Alright, if you haven’t subscribed to Apple+ streaming yet, you’re going to have to do it now, ($6.99/month) SHRINKING is worth its weight in gold......Harrison Ford is priceless......as an aging therapist with problems of his own. This touching series was created by Jason Segel who also plays another therapist whose problems are matched only by his patients’. Ford’s dead pan delivery is piercing, but this show is stolen by the brilliant work of Jessica Williams who pointedly assures her clients that their therapy sessions “are not graded on the point system.” If you’re alive and well and have blood coursing thru you.......then you have problems too, and you’ll soon find yourself pondering life’s mysteries as this brilliant ensemble cast touches your heart.....and tickles your side. Our Favorite Theater Subscribe Now |
If we had a magic wand, we would fill up every seat for every performance at BAY STREET THEATER for their MAINSTAGE SEASON, because year after year we find ourselves counting our blessings that this theater is in our midst. And this year we are literally waiting with bated breath. |
Some years ago we were seated at a fundraiser for the theater with a young, beautiful, and astonishing talent named Madeline Myers. (It turned out that she was part of the evening’s entertainment.) And now she emerges as the supremely talented (OK, gifted) auteur of the first show of the Summer season....as both composer and lyricist of DOUBLE HELIX, a sung-through musical about the race to secure the discovery of DNA in the 1950s. It centers on Rosalind Franklin, a young crystallographer whose now-famous photograph, Photograph 51, revealed the structure of DNA to be a double helix. DOUBLE HELIX tells Rosalind’s story, which has been left out of our dominant cultural narrative about the most important scientific discovery in modern history. We now consider Madeline a cherished friend and can’t wait to watch her emerge as one of musical theater’s rising talents.
Click here to subscribe for the MAINSTAGE SEASON, and join us in welcoming Madeline to the Hamptons......Where we are all “lucky enough” to have her and THE WORLD PREMIER of her show with us this summer. |
