A beloved tradition, ArtWalk Dupont is a free, self-guided art walk around greater Dupont Circle on the first Friday of each month in art galleries, embassies, museums, and other cultural centers. The list includes Heurich House Museum, IA&A at Hillyer, Korean Cultural Center, Museum of the Palestinian People, Pen Arts Gallery, Q Street Fine Art, The Ven at Embassy Row, and many more. Concert and Wine Reception at French Embassy

The Embassy of France is hosting a delightful evening of classical music, followed by a wine reception. The event will feature the Music of Modest Mussorgsky, one of the five Russian composers known as the "Mighty Handful". Everything he composed was conceived in terms of natural rhythms, melodies and harmonies of Slavonic folk music.

Adams Morgan Porchfest

A beloved tradition returns this year. With approximately 100 bands, this event will showcase some of DC's best local musical talent, featuring classic rock, go-go, rap, reggae, blue grass, classical, and pop. Twenty porches, business patios, parks, and the closed 18th Street will become staging for the day. Event wristbands are free, and provide attendees with dozens of discounts at various Adams Morgan businesses. Read more below:

40 Years of Morrissey

Morrissey's influence and music legacy is irrefutable. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in British pop, as well as one of the greatest lyricists of his generation. As a lead singer of The Smiths, he marked forever the history of music with only four albums. As a soloist, he consolidated a sound that still reverberates today. This tour will be a celebration of songs that have resonated with fans worldwide for 40 years. Learn more below.

Capital Book Fest

Downtown DC's outdoor, family-friendly, pop-up bookstore returns to Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Shop thousands of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl all on sale. Books are provided by Carpe Librium, a local bookstore benefitting nonprofit Turning the Page. Learn more below.
Friday, October 20 | 6pm - 8:30pm | Smithsonian National Zoo
Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo, Smithsonian's beloved family-friendly event is back! Guests can feast their eyes on spellbinding habitats decorated with Jack-O-Lanterns, spooky enrichment, tasty treats for the animals, and vignettes that liven up the Zoo's main pathway. Tickets include special after-hours access for animal viewing, and around 30 trick-or-treat stations around the Zoo.

Titanic - The Exhibition

Over 100 years later, people are still enthralled by the tragedy of the Titanic. This exhibit will feature handwritten letters, photographs, and, notably, the diamond-and-sapphire necklace that inspired the "Heart of the Ocean" in the 1997 Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio film. Life-sized recreations of the ship's interiors allow visitors to feel as though they've walked in passengers' footsteps. Learn more below:

Trick or Treat at Tudor Place

Celebrate the fall season with games and crafts at Tudor Place. Wear your Halloween best to explore the gardens meandering paths and find festive activities, fun, and sugary treats. All ages are welcome - though this program is best enjoyed by children aged three to eight.

Turning the Page

Founded in Washington DC in 1998, Turning the Page founders were motivated by the visible needs of under-served Washington, DC public school students. It links public schools, families, and their communities to ensure students receive valuable educational resources and a high-quality public education. Since it's formation, TTP has engaged over 7,000 families, held more than 1,000 Community Nights, distributed over 125,000 books, and supported over 200 parents to become change makers.
