There are Greater Boston homes available for less than $800K. But act fast
If you're looking to buy a single-family home or condominium in Greater Boston for less than $800,000, don't lose hope. There are options. But experts say serious buyers should be ready to move — with preapproval in hand — because many of these properties are going fast.
"The under-$800,000 market is very hot. There are a great deal of buyers who are competing at that level," said Colleen Barry, CEO of Gibson Sotheby's International Realty.
Properties listed for less than $800,000 tend to move quickly and often have multiple offers, she said.
"The key is whether or not the house will sell for higher-than-appraised value, which can cause issues for some buyers," Barry said. "Others can waive the appraisal contingency."
Here are five picks of the week for under $800,000 in Hull, Concord, Newton, Waltham and Dartmouth.
