New York City March Calendar of Unique and Charitable Events |

WHAT IS MARCH MADNESS? It all depends on where one lives. I’m reminded by our Canadian neighbors that this phrase refers to a period when government departments traditionally rush to spend the remainder of their budgets to avoid budget reductions the following year.
In New York City, March Madness could easily be referring to our real estate market rush, which continues to outperform any period in recent memory. Record contract activity combined with shrinking inventory is a testament to not only the resiliency of our city, but to its immense desirability. Despite our many challenges, New York City is still viewed as the most vibrant and dynamic city in America, if not the world (see Calendar below). As an example, well over 1000 contracts were signed in Manhattan just in the month of February!
The greatly anticipated arrival of Spring has produced a flood of local and national buyers, who are braving the cold temperatures to take advantage of our plentiful supply and reasonable prices. Once both warm weather and international buyers return, we fully expect 2022 to be another record-breaking year, with rising prices and limited options.
Until then, now is the perfect time to shop for a piece of the Big Apple!

39 West 23rd Street - Flatiron House is a limited collection of graciously scaled residences by celebrated design firm COOKFOX Architects. Drawing upon principles of biophilic and sustainable design, Flatiron House’s limestone and terracotta façade is gracefully accented with custom-designed bronzed railings and cascading foliage. Drawing upon the aesthetic of its landmarked neighbors through a distinctly contemporary lens, Flatiron House comprises two buildings connected by a central garden. Rising above West 23rd Street with open views of Downtown Manhattan and The Clocktower to the east, the Tower is accentuated by a rhythmic grid of windows and planted loggias.
The more intimate Loft building, situated on quiet West 24th Street, offers a collection of full-floor residences with historic Flatiron District views. Many residences offer private planted spaces, creating a seamless transition between interiors and the outdoors

To find the multi-room exhibit, head up to the store's seventh floor, where you'll also find an arcade claw machine with lip-shaped pouches. A unique data-driven immersive exhibition that explores and interprets the multiple meanings and implications of the concept of trust is coming to ARTECHOUSE. It takes a look at how historical events have influenced trust and how they'll influence it in the future by using data points to examine how the presence or absence of trust can shift the perception of our individual realities. Multidisciplinary art studio fuse* takes data from historical news and blockchain data points to artistically translate the levels of this feeling into visuals. It will be separated into three chapters—the past, the present and the future—to present an "ecosystem composed of high-resolution projection, hyperreal immersive sound technology and custom-made software, created to support creative experimentation of today’s artists." |

In four musical and visual tableaux, "Ruo and Twist adapt the myths through the lens of our modern-day relationship with the natural world, with the creation stories conjuring respect and awe for the environment, and the water stories challenging us to be good stewards of the resources we have been given." |

NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade |
The NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of New York City’s greatest traditions. The first parade was on March 17, 1762 — fourteen years before the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. The first NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade was comprised of a band of homesick, Irish ex-patriots and Irish military members serving with the British Army stationed in the colonies in New York. This was a time when the wearing of green was a sign of Irish pride but was banned in Ireland. In that 1762 parade, participants reveled in the freedom to speak Irish, wear green, sing Irish songs and play the pipes to Irish tunes that were meaningful to the Irish immigrants of that time. |
