Forsythia ……. the messy cousin of Hamptons’ manicured hedges, announces April with its vibrant sun-yellow displays. Anything but neat and orderly, Forsythia serves as a metaphor for our unruly real estate market. The pundits predicted no inventory, and yet new product seems to emerge every day. The press declared it a “seller’s market” yet we’re seeing prices forced down on homes that were too aggressively priced. New construction is underway throughout The Hamptons at unprecedented levels …… guaranteed to achieve prices consistent with our new status as a true four-seasons community. Anyone who claims to have a clear handle on current market conditions is either much smarter than us, or simply is full of fertilizer. These days, every home is its own market, every buyer a cohort of one. We encourage everyone to approach the market with their eyes wide open ….. and take in the Forsythia while you’re at it.

Crocus …. we can count on them, consistently our first burst of Spring color. (Yep, another metaphor.) Because what we love most about ALMOND is its consistency. The menu continues to delight year after year. The service isn’t just professional, but always welcoming. Eric and Jason have worked hard to create an environment in which you easily feel at home ….. perhaps this restaurant’s greatest strength. We walk in with great expectations, and consistently leave well satisfied. Like Crocus, ALMOND has modest ambitions, but never disappoints. Moules Frites thrill. And the burgers (Beef or turkey) are consistently the best around. |

Our two year wait is over and OUTLANDER is back on Netflix. It was gone so long, that it was hard to get back into the rhythm of past as future, and future…past. But Claire and Jamie are clearly readying for the American Revolution. If you’re not a fan, you’ve got a lot of catching up to do as you simply can’t join this one midstream.
But our reason for highlighting OUTLANDER for you is really to shine a light on one of our favorite movies this year. Academy Award Winner for best original screen play, Kenneth Branaugh’s BELFAST. The magnificent Catriona Balfe (Claire in Outlander) is radiant as the mother, wife, and high
school sweetheart in war-torn Belfast. She’ll take your breath away. |

Our Favorite Charity Event |
Mark the Date: April 30th at the Bridgehampton Community Center (6:30-10:00 pm). The Ellen Hermanson Foundation’s COME DANCE WITH US spring event. With the Hamptons’ population already swelling, this promises to be an exciting affair. If you’ve been looking forward to actually seeing some of the faces you’ve missed, this may be the best reason of all to come out of your COVID hibernation, because The Foundation needs your support to keep up its work in support of those in our community afflicted with Breast Cancer. If that’s not a good enough reason to sign up early, then ANN CIARDULLO, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD…….should ring a bell. |
