New York City May Calendar of Unique and Charitable Events |
|
|
Even though some days it may still feel like winter here in NYC, spring is finally here, along with a multitude of unique and charitable events one can support (see Calendar below). New York City activity is back to normal, whether you are walking the streets, shopping, dining, seeing a Broadway show — or looking for real estate!
Remember the adage ... Just Follow the Money? While I love to keep an eye on such activity, I also like to keep an eye on markets that are historically stable.
According to Knight Frank Wealth Report, the real estate market was overheated last year in many, many major playgrounds around the world such as in Dubai (44%+), Moscow (42%+), San Diego (28%+), Miami (28%+), and our very own Hamptons (21%+), to name just a few watering holes. New York City, by comparison, registered only a 2.6% increase during 2021. While we are now experiencing a lack of inventory and our contract signings are far above normal, our prices remain stable - as is our way of life!
It is this stability that continues to draw billionaires from around the world to purchase properties in NYC. It should come as no surprise to anyone, according to Forbes, that New York City is home to more billionaires than any city in the world … with 107 of these billionaires having a combined net worth of over $640 billion. People with this kind of money have the resources and financial freedom to live anywhere in the world, and they continue to choose our amazing city.
With that thought in mind, wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Spring!
Kevin
