Thank you for your donation to Food Literacy Center! Your generosity supports our mission of inspiring kids to eat their vegetables. Our cooking and nutrition classes are creating a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the classroom.

Each year, Food Literacy Center is the most requested after school program in Sacramento. During the 2022-23 school year, we taught cooking and nutrition to 2,001 students across 19 Title-1 elementary schools, doubling our impact from last year.

Students especially love sharing their new favorite recipes with their families. "I loved the veggie tostadas! I made one for my mom at home," exclaimed Jayden, a fourth-grader at Susan B. Anthony Elementary School.

In response to high rates of food and nutrition insecurity following the pandemic, we provided a record number of meals to students and families in need. Veggie Recipe Kits are now an integral part of our program due to their success.
